The infrastructure gap

Mobile traffic is growing faster than networks can scale.

Global mobile data usage is projected to more than double in the coming years. Streaming, AI, connected devices, and 5G are accelerating demand worldwide. Yet traditional telecom infrastructure remains expensive, centralized, and slow to expand.

$1.8T Industry

Global telecom generates over $1.8 trillion annually, controlled by a small number of operators.

Rising Demand

Mobile data traffic is forecast to grow by over 200% in the next few years.

Now you can own the infrastructure that powers connectivity.

AirNodes are real-world telecom devices that expand the World Mobile network. When subscribers use the network, you earn a share of eligible revenue.

Three simple steps

Select. Connect. Earn.

Become an AirNode Operator in minutes.

  • Choose your AirNode.
  • It goes live on the network.
  • You earn from usage.

Got a question? We've got the answer
Why the focus on Pakistan for the EmberNodes?

Pakistan is an active deployment market where the network already has scale, demand, and momentum.

It already has a large Spark AirNode rollout, proven demand, and established infrastructure partnerships. It is also a market where the telecom sector is growing rapidly, which makes it a strong place to expand ownership into a new layer of the network.

How do EmberNode rewards work?

EmberNode rewards are based on verified network traffic.

This is not a fixed-rewards model like Spark AirNode. Rewards are tied to the amount of traffic your EmberNode carries on the live network. As usage grows, the earning opportunity grows with it.

The current reward rate is approximately $0.004167 per GB of data carried, often rounded to $0.0042.

Our current planning benchmark is 800 GB of data carried per EmberNode per month. At that rate, one EmberNode may earn about $3.33 per month.

Thus, an Operator with 10 EmberNodes may earn about $33.33 per month, or about $399.96 per year.

That benchmark is a planning average, not a ceiling. Some EmberNodes may carry more traffic in a month, and others may carry less. Actual rewards depend on the specific conditions around each EmberNode and the amount of verified traffic it supports on the live network.

These figures are illustrative only. They do not represent a commitment or guarantee. Rewards are not fixed and will vary based on the verified traffic carried by each EmberNode.

How much does an EmberNode cost?

The purchase price is $165 per EmberNode as a one-time payment.

To make EmberNodes more accessible, a tiered pricing structure has been introduced. This model rewards larger commitments by reducing the cost per node as your purchase volume increases.

Tiered pricing structure:

  • 1–10 units: $165 per node
  • 11–149 units: $150 per node
  • 150–500 units: $145 per node

This structure is applied progressively, ensuring that each tier benefits from its corresponding price point.

Illustrative example: If you purchase 15 EmberNodes, the pricing is calculated as follows:

  • The first 10 units are priced at $165 per node
  • The remaining 5 units are priced at $150 per node

This approach lowers the average cost per node while maintaining fair and transparent pricing across all purchase levels.

Is the EmberNode a replacement for the Spark?

No.

The EmberNode is an additional infrastructure layer, not a replacement. Spark AirNodes remain a core part of the network, and the two node types complement each other.

Together, they open a broader opportunity for network ownership within Pakistan.

Does the EmberNode provide connectivity directly to end users?

No.

EmberNode does not serve end users directly. It operates upstream in the network and supports the infrastructure that delivers connectivity to people on the ground.

Where does the EmberNode sit in the network?

The EmberNode sits between the ISP backbone and downstream network infrastructure.

It receives high-capacity wholesale connectivity from the backbone and distributes it to devices and services further down the network, including Spark AirNodes and other infrastructure.

What is an EmberNode?

An EmberNode is a cabinet-based network infrastructure node.

It is a ruggedized outdoor fiber gateway installed in a street cabinet or enclosure that takes connectivity from an ISP backbone and distributes it downstream across the local network.

It sits one step higher than endpoint connectivity.

What currencies are rewards paid in?

Rewards are paid in USD or stablecoins through the platform. Payments are transparent and trackable in your operator dashboard. The system is designed to be straightforward and predictable.

Do I need technical knowledge to operate an AirNode?

No. Entry-level AirNodes such as the EmberNodes come pre-installed and are platform-managed. Setup is straightforward and does not require any technical background. For higher-tier deployments, the World Mobile team provides installation support and guidance.

What exactly is an AirNode?

An AirNode is a physical telecom device that creates mobile coverage and connects to the World Mobile network. When subscribers in range use the network for calls, texts, or data, usage flows through your AirNode and generates revenue shared with you as the operator.

How much can I earn as an AirNode operator?

Earnings vary based on the type of AirNode you operate, subscriber activity in your area, and network usage volumes. Operators earn fiat or stablecoin rewards generated through their node, paid in USD.

How do I claim the earnings from my AirNodes?

You can claim your AirNode earnings by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to your AirNode account at https://airnode.worldmobile.net/
  1. Navigate to the 'Rewards' section on the left side of the screen.
  1. Use the 'Claim' button under the Available Balance section.

Important note: Rewards for a given month become available to claim 30 days after that month ends.
Example: rewards for 1-30 September, become available to claim after the 30th of October.

  1. Choose the amount you would like to claim. The minimum withdrawal amount is $10.
  1. Select preferred payout method:
    1. fiat in USD, GBP or EUR
    2. stablecoin in USDT on the Ethereum chain. Crypto transaction fees are incurred by the Operator.
  1. Add bank or wallet details if needed. Make sure to add a secure wallet you have access to. We do not recommend receiving funds using an exchange address.
Note: We do not bear responsibility for any losses of funds due to incorrect or incomplete address.
  1. Complete the claim.

Once claimed, payments are sent to your account within 10 working days following the claim.

What are Spark AirNodes?

Spark AirNodes are small Wi-Fi devices that provide internet within a 150-metre radius - perfect for homes, families, and small businesses.

What are Titan AirNodes?

Titan AirNodes are large, long-range devices that support the wider World Mobile network.

They act as a backup layer, keeping people connected even in areas where other AirNodes or networks are unavailable.

This role has earned them the nickname “Overwatch” - they provide steady, reliable coverage across wide areas.

Because of their size and reach, Titans are installed in key locations like rooftops, towers, or tall buildings.

What are Portal AirNodes?

Portal AirNodes are high-capacity devices that provide strong, wide-area coverage.

They’re often used to connect entire neighborhoods, businesses, or public spaces to the World Mobile network.

Portal AirNodes are usually installed on rooftops, towers, or other elevated structures to maximize their reach.

Portals played a special role in our relief efforts after Hurricane Helene ravaged North Carolina in November 2024. Read more here.

Where are Spark AirNodes deployed?

Spark AirNodes are currently deployed in Pakistan, primarily around Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, and Multan.

Spark AirNodes are designed to bring high-speed internet access directly to end users. They also connect with nearby Spark devices to form a mesh network, strengthening local coverage and creating a more resilient connection for everyone in the area.

Spark AirNodes are currenlty only avaliable to distribution partners.

Where do the rewards come from?

AirNodes earn rewards based on usage.
