Core Staking is Live: Here's How to Get Involved

Staking is back. Smarter, faster, and more aligned with our mission.

Following the World Mobile Token migration, we saw an opportunity - not just to update the system, but to evolve it for a multi-chain future.  

Today, Core Staking goes live with two powerful options: WMTx staking on EVM and Cardano via a brand-new EVM staking app and revamped Vault.

Multiple paths, one mission: reward the pioneers securing the future of connectivity.

What’s Changed?

Core Staking supports both the EVM and Cardano versions of WMTx.

EVM staking is now live on Base. This is staking through a self-custodial wallet, with no bridging and no lock-in period. Smart contracts handle the process transparently.  

Cardano staking is also back, via a fully re-engineered Vault. The Vault has been rebuilt for better usability with a new interface. It also continues to support ENNFT staking until public mainnet launches, with each ENNFT contributing 100,000 WMTx towards your staking balance.

How to Stake

Option 1: EVM Staking on Base

1. Start staking: https://worldmobile.io/the-chain
   ‍
2. Select 'Stake on EVM' on the staking app homepage.
   ‍
3. Once in the app, connect your Base-compatible wallet.
   ‍
4. Stake your WMTx directly via the on-screen instructions.
   
5. Claim your rewards when ready, by using the 'unstake' feature.

There’s no minimum stake. No lock-in period. Everything is managed via audited smart contracts.

Option 2: Staking via the Cardano Vault

1. Start staking: https://worldmobile.io/the-chain

2. Create a Vault. During setup:

1. Secure your 24 Vault seed words.

2. Set a personal passphrase.

3. Verify your email.

3. Export a .JSON backup file and store it securely.

4. Link your self-custodial Cardano wallet to the Vault.

1. You’ll be given a specific ADA amount to send (between 1.4–1.8 ADA) for verification.

2. Once the wallet is verified, staking begins automatically.

Note: You cannot stake from exchange wallets. Only self-custodial wallets are supported.

Epochs, Snapshots and Rewards

• EVM-based staking rewards are calculated and distributed on a rolling 30-day epoch basis.
  
  
  • Epochs start on the 1st of each calendar month following the date you initially staked.

• Cardano snapshots are monthly, running from the 1st of each month at 00:00 UTC.

• Rewards can only be earned from a fully completed epoch or snapshot.

• APY is up to 5% and not guaranteed.

FAQs

Q: What’s the APY?
A: You can earn up to 5% APY. The rate is not fixed and depends on multiple factors.

Q: Can I stake from an exchange wallet?
A: No. You need a self-custodial wallet for both EVM and Cardano staking.

Q: Can I claim old rewards from the previous Vault?
A: Yes, if you had unclaimed rewards, they’ll be automatically recoverable via a future feature implementation.

Q: What happens if I lose access to my Vault?
A: You can recover using either your 24 seed words or your .JSON backup file + passphrase.

Q: What about ENNFTs?
A: Each ENNFT adds 100,000 WMTx to your staking weight in the Vault until mainnet launches.

Q: Can I stake on BNB or Ethereum?
A: Not yet. To participate, bridge your tokens to Base or Cardano.

Q: What if I need help?
