Introducing Atmosphere Grid: Extending EarthNodes into Sovereign AI Infrastructure

In March 2026, we launched the EarthNode Agentic Ecosystem.

That launch confirmed that AI agents are no longer passive tools. They communicate, execute tasks, make decisions and transact across systems.

But those systems were never designed for agents, making most agent infrastructure fragmented.

Identity lives in one place. Compute in another. Payments somewhere else. Storage, inference and private communication all depend on centralized systems that could restrict access, expose data or fail under pressure.

We built the EarthNode Agentic Ecosystem to bring those layers together.

Now, we are taking the next leap.

We are introducing Atmosphere Grid: a new, single infrastructure layer built on the EarthNode Agentic Ecosystem and designed for autonomous AI agents operating across decentralized, real-world network infrastructure.

A new infrastructure layer for autonomous agents

Atmosphere Grid combines sovereign identity, private networking, secure compute, edge AI inference and machine-to-machine payments into a single architecture.

This is where EarthNodes evolve into a broader infrastructure layer.

Agents need environments where they can operate independently. They need identity that can be verified. They need private channels to communicate. They need compute they can rely on. They need inference close to where data is generated. They need a way to pay for resources without subscriptions, manual billing or centralized rails.

Atmosphere Grid provides that foundation.

Now, AI agents can discover capabilities, deploy workloads, communicate securely, access infrastructure and settle usage in WMTx across the World Mobile network.

What this unlocks for EarthNodes

EarthNodes are no longer limited to validation or coordination.

With Atmosphere Grid, they become infrastructure for an emerging AI agentic economy.

Each EarthNode can support services that agents depend on: storage, networking, compute, inference and settlement. That transforms EarthNodes into productive infrastructure for telecom and AI workloads alike.

With that, the role of EarthNode Operators expands significantly inside the network.

Operators are not just strengthening the ecosystem. They are helping power an environment where the AI systems of the future can operate securely, independently and economically.

That is what DePIN is built for.

Physical infrastructure. Independent operators. Verifiable usage. Value returned to the people who strengthen the network.

The four pillars inside Atmosphere Grid

Atmosphere Grid is powered by four core EarthNode services.

  • EarthVault gives agents post-quantum encrypted storage. Agents can retain information securely over time without handing sensitive data to centralized providers.
  • EarthMesh gives agents private networking. Agents can communicate through EarthNode infrastructure instead of relying on the public internet.
  • EarthCompute gives agents isolated execution environments. Workloads run in secure, controlled spaces designed to reduce operational risk.
  • EarthInfer brings AI inference to the edge. Agents can process information closer to where it is generated, improving speed, efficiency and resilience.

Together, these services operate as a unified layer for autonomous systems.

Agents can hold identity, discover services, run tasks, communicate privately and pay for resources inside the same environment.

WMTx as the settlement layer for agents

Atmosphere Grid is built around usage.

When an agent uses compute, inference, storage, private networking or another agent service, that usage can settle in WMTx.

The system is designed to support micropayments through x402-style payment flows, allowing agents to pay per interaction without subscriptions, manual invoicing, or centralized billing rails.

This creates a direct economic loop.

  • Agents consume infrastructure
  • Usage settles in WMTx
  • EarthNode Operators are rewarded for verified work
  • The capacity for more infrastructure is created
  • More agents and services enter the network

The result is a broader utility layer for WMTx, extending settlement beyond telecom and into AI infrastructure usage while remaining tied to verifiable network activity.

From cloud dependency to sovereign agent infrastructure

Most AI systems today still depend on centralized providers for compute, identity, storage, model access and payments.

That may support some use cases. It will not support all of them.

As agents become more autonomous, they will require infrastructure designed for privacy, verification, resilience and direct economic activity.

Atmosphere Grid is built for that category of work. It is not intended to replace every cloud use case. It is designed for a specific and growing set of workloads where privacy, verifiability, resilience, and autonomous payment matter.

This includes:

  • Private AI inference
  • Agent-to-agent marketplaces
  • Autonomous research agents
  • Network optimization agents
  • Secure enterprise workloads
  • Decentralized data and model services

These are the foundations of an AI economy that requires infrastructure it can trust.

Built on real-world assets

Atmosphere Grid is grounded in the physical network we have already built.

Our infrastructure includes more than 155,000 AirNodes deployed globally, alongside EarthNodes operated by independent participants.

This positions Atmosphere Grid at the intersection of two major digital asset themes:

  • AI infrastructure, where autonomous systems require compute, networking, identity, inference, and payments
  • Real-world assets, where physical infrastructure generates measurable usage and on-chain economic activity

What comes next

Atmosphere Grid is currently live on testnet, with early capabilities already being tested across the EarthNode Agentic Ecosystem.

Mainnet rollout is planned in phases later in 2026. This rollout is expected to include:

  • Agent identity and service discovery
  • Private networking capabilities
  • Secure compute environments
  • Edge AI inference services
  • WMTx-based machine-to-machine payments
  • Operator reward mechanisms tied to verified usage

“World Mobile began with a simple belief: infrastructure should be owned and operated by the people who make it useful. Atmosphere Grid carries that idea into the AI era. It gives autonomous agents the infrastructure they need to operate securely, privately, and economically across a decentralized network. - Micky Watkins, Chief Executive Officer and founder of World Mobile”

The future of AI should not be locked inside centralized systems.

It should run on infrastructure people can own.
