From Hex NFT Ownership to Earnings: Network Builder Rewards Explained

From Hex NFT Ownership to Earnings: Network Builder Rewards Explained

The Network Builder is designed to make the act of consistently building a telecom network a rewarding endeavor.

Owning a Hex NFT is the beginning of a structured path that is designed to connect real effort to clear opportunities and rewards. Every action a Hex Operator takes is tied to defined responsibilities, and every reward opportunity is tied to progress that can be seen and measured.

In the sections below, we outline the Network Builder Rewards Framework in clear terms, then walk through the progression system that unlocks those rewards step by step. The aim is to demonstrate how time, effort, and consistency within the Network Builder can translate into tangible rewards over time.

The Network Builder Rewards Framework

After a Hex Operator completes the initial requirements for Enablement (a concept explained later in this blog post) and becomes eligible to earn rewards, there are five types of rewards that they have the opportunity to earn.

1. Subscription revenue rewards

Enabled Hex Operators become eligible to earn a share of eligible World Mobile phone plan subscription revenue.

How it works:

  • A Hex Operator can earn up to 5% of the revenue collected from the subscribers that join through their affiliate code
  • Subscribers may be acquired inside or outside the Hex – their location does not matter
  • Your eligibility to earn this percentage may increase through milestone-based progression – for example, when you reach Master Builder status (outlined later in the blog post), you earn a higher percentage
  • Your eligibility to earn this percentage may also increase if the subscribers are located within your Hex – more details will be provided in due time.

Eligible revenue currently applies only to USA Essential and Advanced phone plans. Rewards may be paid in fiat or stablecoins where permitted.

Illustrative example: When a Hex Operator acquires 1,000 subscribers (the minimum amount to earn rewards – more details in a later section), and each subscriber signs up to the Essential phone plan at $59 per month, the Hex Operator will earn $35,400 annually – the equivalent of a monthly income of $2,950. To put that into perspective, this is roughly the same as the take-home pay of a full-time professional salary in many developed markets, generated purely from a single, well-performing Hex.

Bear in mind that this illustrative rewards projection does not include:

  • AirNode sales commission
  • Any other hardware sales commission
  • Enhanced Affiliate Rewards
  • Government fees, taxes, carrier pass-through charges, etc. These costs must be borne by the Hex Operator

Disclaimer: The earning examples shown in this section are illustrative only and are provided to demonstrate how the Network Builder rewards framework functions under specific, simplified assumptions. These examples should not be interpreted as guarantees of income, profit, or financial return.

Actual earnings, if any, depend entirely on factors including but not limited to subscriber acquisition, user retention, infrastructure deployment success, local market conditions, and the ongoing actions and performance of the Hex Operator. It is possible to earn less than the examples shown, or nothing at all.

All reward formulas, percentages, thresholds, and incentive structures are subject to change. Any examples or descriptions reflect the framework in effect at the time of publication only and do not constitute a guarantee of future rewards or outcomes.

2. Enhanced affiliate rewards

Hex Operators also qualify for the ‘Enhanced’ affiliate rewards. When you operate a Hex, you essentially become a premium World Mobile affiliate.

Each Hex Operator may earn up to $150 per activated subscriber through this track.

These rewards support outreach, education, and community activation of the phone plans. More details will be made visible in your Operator Dashboard.

Illustrative example: Consider a Hex Operator that acquires 1,000 phone plan subscribers through their affiliate code. They will earn $150 enhanced affiliate rewards for each subscriber, adding an income of up to $150,000. This, combined with the subscription rewards mentioned in the previous point, brings their total earnings so far to $180,400. This income alone is enough to put you in the 99th percentile of earners worldwide.

3. Hardware and deployment rewards

Hex Operators can also earn rewards linked to AirNode sales activity inside their Hex.

These include:

  • A 12.5% commission on eligible AirNode hardware sales
  • Other usage-based rewards applied to AirNodes operating inside the Hex. More details will be made available in due time, primarily in your Hex Operator dashboard

Illustrative example: A Hex Operator who coordinates the installation of a Portal 360 AirNode in their Hex will earn $2,250 in commission. Even with just 10 Portal 360 AirNodes installed, they earn $22,500 not counting any other usage-based rewards. Combined with the other earnings outlined in previous points, the Hex Operator’s total annual income now stands at $202,900 – placed comfortably in the top 0.5% of the world’s earners.

4. Development-based milestone rewards

Hex Operators can also earn additional rewards for completing milestones that prepare a Hex for wider adoption. Specifics on these rewards will be provided in due time.

Milestones may include:

  • Scan-for-Points coverage milestones
  • Securing Host sites for deployment
  • Installing and activating AirNodes
  • Achieving subscriber growth targets beyond the initial 1,000 requirement
  • Other development and engagement requirements defined in the Network Builder program

These rewards incentivize the sustained work required to build a Hex for long-term usage.

5. Master Builder rewards

Finally, a Hex Operator who completes all five levels, including the Level 5 market share objective (explained later in the blog post), reaches Master Builder status. This designation reflects sustained execution and long-term contribution to the World Mobile network.

Master Builders have the opportunity to receive:

  • Additional discounts on AirNode hardware
  • An additional 1% share of eligible subscription revenue within their Hexes, bringing their total rewards to 6%

Illustrative example: A single Hex associated with the minimum of 1,000 subscribers will earn the Hex Operator $42,480 annually.

Taken together, these examples illustrate the potential scale of the Network Builder opportunity: subscriber growth, affiliate acquisition, and infrastructure deployment stacked into a single earnings framework that can rival the income of top-performing professionals by successfully expanding the network in one Hex.

The other side of the Rewards framework: The Network Builder progression levels

On the other side of opportunity lies responsibility. To that end, the Network Builder progression levels outline the tasks that a Hex Operator must complete to unlock rewards step by step. Each level focuses on a different phase of operating a Hex, from establishing early demand to becoming a formidable force in the market.

  • Level 1: Network growth
  • Level 2: Network planning
  • Level 3: Infrastructure enablement
  • Level 4: Network deployment
  • Level 5: Market leadership

Progression through these levels is linear and guided through the Hex Operator dashboard. Each level builds on the last, equipping a Hex Operator with gradually increasing responsibilities and earning potential, all the way from activating the first subscriber to becoming a Master Builder.

Level 1: Network growth

Level 1 is where a Hex Operator becomes active and proves early demand for the network. The goal at this stage is to function as a Network Affiliate, and by sharing a custom affiliate code, demonstrate the ability to grow network usage and awareness. Progress is measured through verified subscriber acquisition tracked inside the Hex Operator's personal dashboard.

This level includes three clear statuses that mark progress from ownership into operation: Identified, Authorized, and Enabled. These statuses mark early progression from winning a Hex NFT to establishing the foundation to grow network demand and begin earning rewards.

Only once you reach Enablement do you unlock the Rewards Framework and become eligible to earn rewards in the Network Builder. Thus, progressing through the Identified – Authorized – Enabled track is essential to make use of the opportunity that the Network Builder provides.

Here is a walkthrough of the path towards Enablement that is contained within Level 1 of the progression system.

Status 1: Identified

This is the starting status, applied immediately after winning a Hex auction.

What this means:

  • You own the Hex NFT
  • Your wallet is recorded by the platform as the Operator of that territory

To move forward, identity verification must be completed. Verification is handled through a secure third-party provider inside the platform.

  • Individuals complete KYC
  • Businesses complete KYC for a managing director and KYB for the business

Status 2: Authorized

After identity verification, your status becomes Authorized.

At this stage, you gain access to the tools required to begin operating:

  • Hex Operator dashboards and planning tools
  • Your affiliate code for subscriber acquisition
  • Scan-for-Points tools for mapping coverage and demand
  • Business Plan templates and submission flow

Authorized status is where preparation transitions into execution, and your journey towards Enablement begins.

Status 3: Enabled

The Enabled status confirms that you have met the initial operational requirements and established early demand for mobile connectivity.

To become Enabled, you must complete the following:

  • Submit a Business Plan and receive approval
  • Demonstrate active scanning activity using Scan-for-Points inside the Hex
  • Acquire 1,000 active subscribers using your affiliate code
  • Maintain participation signals that show ongoing engagement with network growth

Once you become Enabled, you can participate in the Network Builder rewards framework and unlock the opportunity to earn rewards. In doing so, you progress to Level 2.

Level 2: Network planning

Level 2 is about planning infrastructure within your Hex based on demand on the ground (which you should already have begun mapping during the Scan-for-Points task in Level 1). At this stage, the Hex Operator moves into planning the expansion of the network within their Hexes by coordinating coverage scanning using Scan- for- Points, reaching out to potential Hosts, and building a demand-driven AirNode deployment plan.

To progress through this level, the Hex Operator is expected to:

  • Identify potential Host locations within the Hex
  • Continue scanning activity using the World Mobile Scan for Points app
  • Identify coverage gaps and priority zones
  • Build a deployment plan grounded in observed demand

Fulfilling these requirements moves the Hex Operator into Level 3.

Level 3: Infrastructure enablement

Level 3 focuses on preparing for infrastructure deployment. In this level, Hex Operators complete all the strategic and logistical steps required to support AirNode sales and allocation within their Hex, and complete one successful AirNode sale through the platform.

To complete this level, the Hex Operator must:

  • Successfully conduct an AirNode sale

Completing this level may unlock eligibility for hardware-related rewards, including a commission on eligible AirNode sales.

Level 4: Network deployment

After three stages of building network awareness, identifying demand, and conducting one AirNode sale, larger-scale infrastructure deployment begins. In Level 4, Hex Operators coordinate with Hosts and Agents to install more AirNodes, bring them online, and expand the footprint of the network. Growth and customer acquisition continue alongside deployment work.

At this stage, the Hex Operator is responsible for:

  • Deploying AirNodes at validated Host locations
  • Bringing infrastructure into operation
  • Continuing subscriber acquisition and network growth alongside deployment

This is where planning becomes live coverage and usage.

Level 5: Market leadership

The final level focuses on sustained performance and scale. Operators work toward achieving meaningful local market participation, reflecting long-term contribution and operational consistency.

To complete this level, the Hex Operator must:

  • Achieve 10% market share within the Hex

Market share measurement considers factors such as location and density. Full criteria will be shared as Operators approach this level.

Completion of Level 5 results in Master Builder status, at which point the Hex Operator begins earning Master Builder rewards.

Bringing it all together: Rewards and responsibility

The Network Builder platform is structured to support steady progress that turns a committed new Hex Operator into a telecom entrepreneur.

It ties rewards and responsibilities into a single path, each reward becoming available only after a specific set of tasks is completed and verified.

From Level 1 through to Market Leadership, the platform is set to provide clear guidance to the Hex Operator. It will show them what actions are required, measure their progress, and identify the reward opportunities as they open up. Dashboards, checklists, literature, and support will remove ambiguity and make expectations clear at every step.

For those who want a streamlined journey into telecom entrepreneurship, the Network Builder offers structure, guidance, and transparency, enabling a straightforward path from Hex NFT ownership to long-term network leadership.

Reclaim power. Build the network. Earn the rewards.
