World Mobile Secures Licensed Spectrum in the USA

Nearly 3 billion people still live without internet access. That number speaks for itself. In the United States alone, more than 24 million people remain disconnected from broadband. Rural towns. Tribal lands. Communities passed over by legacy networks that saw no profit in showing up.

Connectivity should not depend on your postcode.

We’ve set out to change that. And today, we’ve reached a new milestone.

World Mobile has secured licensed spectrum across key states in the American Southwest: California, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah. These are not just lines on a map. They’re communities filled with potential, locked out by outdated thinking. With this spectrum in place, we’re ready to switch on a new model for connectivity - one that includes everyone.

Why Spectrum Matters

Licensed spectrum gives us the regulatory green light to operate like a traditional mobile network - except we’re anything but traditional. Our hybrid model blends licensed, shared, and unlicensed spectrum. It combines aerial and terrestrial tech to bring affordable, high-quality coverage to places Big Wireless has ignored.

This spectrum unlocks more than signal. It gives us a foothold to build and grow a decentralized mobile network owned and operated by the people who use it - ahead of the planned launch of AirNode sales. It brings us closer to a future where communities shape the networks they rely on - economically and digitally.

With licensed spectrum secured, World Mobile will become a full member of the GSMA, and be officially recognised as the 52nd mobile network operator in the USA, pending approval by the FCC. We’re not waiting to be handed a seat at the table. We’re building our own.

Aligned with America’s Broadband Future

This isn’t happening in isolation. The United States is in the middle of the largest broadband investment in its history. The federal government’s $42 billion infrastructure program aims to close the digital divide - especially in areas that have long been left behind.

We’re stepping in with a model that not only connects, but uplifts. Our network is designed to lower costs, return value to communities, and expand organically through local participation. It’s a model that complements national goals while giving people ownership over the networks they help grow.

“By securing licensed spectrum, we are signalling our intent to revolutionise the connectivity landscape in the United States. Securing spectrum strengthens our position to deploy our network and support a profitable sharing economy. We believe in harnessing the collective power of individuals and communities to create a more inclusive and connected world.”— Micky Watkins, CEO, World Mobile

From Spectrum to Movement

This isn’t about one company winning spectrum. It’s about communities gaining leverage. Spectrum is the doorway - now we begin the work of co-creating a network that gives people more than access. It gives them a stake.

Our presence in these four states is only the beginning. Each new connection brings more people into the movement. Each new node strengthens the network and the power behind it.

We’ve built the technology. We’ve secured the spectrum. Now we go further.

Reclaim Power. Build the Future.

Join the movement.
