Why We Rebuilt the AirNode Platform

The first version of the AirNode Platform did its job well. It enabled structured drops. It brought Operators and Hosts across countries together in a shared mission. It expanded network deployment across active markets.

But the network is evolving.

Network Builder is now live in the USA, shaping up as the operating system for decentralized telecom and the World Mobile network, through structured, decentralized Hex-based geographic expansion. Spark AirNode rollouts in Pakistan have gathered significant momentum, selling out in the thousands and meeting real demand for connectivity on the ground. Future markets, such as the Philippines, are being prepared with the same logic of decentralized deployment.

That level of coordination requires a stronger infrastructural backbone, and a user experience aligned with the wider World Mobile ecosystem.

Over the past two years, we collected feedback from Operators, reviewed platform behavior, and identified where clarity, speed, and capability could be refined. We streamlined the interface, aligned the user experience with the broader ecosystem, made the drop mechanics cleaner, and created a more seamless checkout experience built for Operators who are looking to scale. Every refinement supports the next phase of growth for World Mobile.

What The New AirNode Platform Enables

Direct Drop Participation

This week’s AirNode drop is the first to run entirely on the new system.

There is no Early Access mechanic; no whitelist. Instead, participation is now completely open to the public from the beginning; anyone with an AirNode account can log into the new platform and purchase AirNodes once they are available.

This makes for a cleaner system which opens AirNodes directly to the public without any gated access, supports a smoother checkout flow, and enables future reservation-based releases aligned with deployment-aligned fulfilment windows.

How to Purchase an AirNode on the New Platform

Log into the AirNode Platform using a magic code

Navigate to ‘Drops’ in the left-hand sidebar. This opens the drops section

Click on ‘View Drop’

Select the number of AirNodes you want to purchase and click on ‘Proceed to Checkout'

Now you’re on the checkout page. If you have earned rewards from your existing AirNodes, you will be able to apply them toward your new purchase

Accept the terms and conditions on the ‘Order Summary’ and click on ‘Continue to Sign Agreements’

Sign both agreements using your digital signature and download both documents for your reference

Make your payment using your preferred payment method

This structure also sets the stage for the next phase. As Network Builder expands across Hexes in the USA, Hex Operators will be able to manage and deploy their own AirNode drops within their assigned Hexes using this same platform architecture.

Over the last two years, many AirNode Operators have collectively earned millions of dollars in rewards through active participation and deployment success.

For the first time, AirNode Operators can use unclaimed rewards directly toward the purchase of new AirNodes. An intuitive sliding scale enables you to select the portion of unclaimed rewards you want to use against the purchase of new AirNodes.

How to Claim Rewards in the New AirNode Platform

Log into the AirNode Platform using a magic code

Click “Claim Rewards” to open the rewards page

Review your available balance in USD

Choose how much you want to claim. You no longer need to withdraw your full balance. Use the slider to select any amount above the $10 minimum and leave the rest available

Select your currency and destination account. Available payout options include USD, GBP, EUR, or USDT

Submit your claim

After submitting, you’ll see a confirmation pop-up with the option to download or share your claim image

Why This Matters for Network Builder

Network Builder structures geographic growth of the network across defined Hexes. AirNodes are the physical infrastructure that powers coverage inside those Hexes.

No gated access – just open, public participation. Anyone who is logged into their AirNode Platform account can purchase AirNodes. If you aren’t logged in, you will be able to do so once you enter the platform.
